This is your chance to join the YCG committee and be an active member or your community! Committee positions are nominally for 2 years and you will be part of a great team that organises the annual satellite meetings. There are lots of other opportunities throughout the year and to be involved with outreach activities and the wider BCA community. Up for election this year are:
- Deputy Chair
- BSG Representative
- IG Representative
- Ordinary Members (three positions)
If you are interested in joining the committee, whether you are attending the meeting or not contact the secretary by email ([email protected]) to express your interest to be considered for a position before Monday 15th April at 16.00. Note – you must be a current member of the BCA.
Information for applicants
All roles involve taking part in the planning of the YCG satellite meeting which includes deciding plenary and keynote speakers (through committee discussion), chairing sessions within the meeting, organising and implementing the flash presentation session and judging the YCG poster sessions. But additional roles of the available positions are as follows.
Deputy Chair: Be an acting chair in the absence of the chairperson at YCG committee meetings. The deputy may also have to act on the chairperson’s behalf in other official capacity including, but not exclusive to, attendance of BCA council meetings.
IG Representative: As well as being a member of the YCG committee the IG rep also holds a position on the IG committee. The purpose of the IG Rep is to provide a point of contact between the two committees and should assist in the implementation of cross group events (e.g joint sessions at the spring meeting)
BSG Representative: As well as being a member of the YCG committee the BSG rep also holds a position on the BSG committee. The purpose of the BSG Rep is to provide a point of contact between the two committees and should assist in the implementation of cross group events (e.g joint sessions at the spring meeting)
